I have had the pleasure of working with the Palmer family a few times. This had to be my favourite session with them to date. Mom is a respected photographer herself, an incredibly gifted woman who always brings me these gorgeously coordinated outfits. I had so many beautiful sessions with families this year and can’t wait to share them all.
Thank you Palmer’s always for the fun filled hour. Thank you Dad for always ending it on the highest note!
I met Abby and Andrew the winter of 2015 and we had a blast. I instantly recognized that Abby truly defined “funk”. She had a vision, personality and it shined through. Andrew was the joker and always laughing; even the day of the wedding with a cold he was filled with laughter and good times.
This was my first wedding in Calgary of my wedding career, and it had be beyond nervous. Abby wanted photos that reflected her and Andrew’s careers as engineers. Architecture and a little bit more “funky”. I was in a new city with way too many one ways, it was so unreliably hot that weekend, and was pushed a little out of my comfort zone of utilizing nature. The results are something I loved. I loved finding new angles, working with the crowds and being with a couple who were game for whatever I threw their way.
The reception was at the iconic Lake House in Calgary (You need to check this place out for dinner; it is delicious!). The speeches of this wedding left me in tears from laughing so hard, and you could truly tell that every single soul that was in that room was there to celebrate Abby and Andrew’s wedding. The room burst with love and support.
Congratulations again Andrew and Abby; I wish you two all the very best!
I got to capture Mia and Reid’s wedding day this past summer (blog to come…I’m a bit behind) however I wanted to share this session with the launch of my new website. I asked these two wonderful people to model for me. I wanted to get out and tap into my creative brain. I used to photograph stylized shoots quite often, however working full time on top of photography, being a Mom – it has zapped a lot of my free time.
I was dreaming of golden light for this session and unfortunately we were granted shady, cloudy skies. It was an opportunity to just roll with what Mother Nature has given us.
Thank you to this beautiful couple for being willing to chase the light with me this evening, for going into fields and random forests. So many laughs and memories made. Thank you both.
To Jack’D Up Beauty; Jennifer the makeup and hair stylist – thank you so much for making this vision come to life. Your talent speaks for itself.
Flowers by Willows – holy! I knew when I met you at Tess’ wedding I had to find you afterwards (does that sound as creepy to you guys as me?) and work with you again. Your vision, use of florals and textures blew me away. You’re a gem in this industry!
The Torres family….such a beautiful trio – can’t believe how big Violet is getting!
“Becky did our family photos and is an incredible photographer. Always professional and captures amazingly natural shots while making you feel at ease in front of the camera. We will treasure our beautiful family photos forever. Thank you so much.”
I love my outdoorsy-farming-small town Alberta couples. I am a small town girl myself, and I always seem to connect easily with them. This couple was no different. Easy going, relaxed, fun, and hilarious is how I would sum up Colin and Tess’s bridal party and day. Everyone was there to celebrate this couple and cheers to their happiness.
Married on a gorgeous estate outside of Edmonton, Country Wildflowers Bed and Breakfast was the most beautiful location for an outdoor wedding. Tess, a lover of florals, had incredible arrangements and bouquets made by Flowers by Willows everywhere. They.Were.Breathtaking.
The day was a combination of rustic, romantic and chic. Not a single detail was forgotten.
Thank you Tess and Colin for having me be apart of your day!
