Mallory and I grew up together in Hinton, Alberta. She has been around since Grade 3. She is what I consider a life-long friend. When she asked me to photograph her wedding it was the hardest decision I have ever made as a photographer. What if they sucked? What if they didn’t like me? What if I some how forgot how to use a camera? Mallory told me she couldn’t imagine anyone else doing them. The day of the wedding Laura, Mallory’s Mom told me how happy she was that I was there doing the photos – ugh I’m crying – but honestly I knew I made the right choice.
Brandon and Mallory getting married was always a for sure thing, none of us every questioned it. They are one of the cutest couples and the best of friends. They do everything together, rarely fight and know how to balance one another out. They are a gorgeous couple, and I am so happy for them both.
Mallory’s wedding was special as I said; it meant a lot to me. It meant so much that I got to be apart of her day, I cried. A lot. I am not a crier either. It was so weird to see one of my best childhood friends become this magnificent bride right before my eyes. All I could remember were sleep overs, braces and Mallory’s old guinea pigs. It was fun talking to her Mom, and I hate to say it, but Ben, I’m still scared of you. I don’t know what it is about your friends’ Dad’s but they will always be scary.
Mallory’s wedding was on the hottest day in September, but we had our run of Duffy’s Golf Course. I would recommend this spot to anyone who is interested in an out-door ceremony. An absolutely stunning spot. From fall colours, modern dresses and stunning flowers; it was a day I will never forget as a friend or photographer. Enjoy!
